UIDAI TO ADD FACE RECOGNITION TO AADHAR

UIDAI had been in news almost everyday thanks to its data privacy breach. Some people had reported that they can get the aadhar details of any person by paying a meagre amount of Rs.100. And Now today again UIDAI is in news as Face Recognitionwill be added to AADHAR in addition to existing Finger Print and Iris scanner.

The Reason that made UIDAI to add Face Recognition is that Finger prints might not be clear in some persons due to their manual hard work or due to growing age. So, In such cases Face Recognition will help a lot in Authentication.

Adding another layer of security by Face Recognition does not mean that all the users should go to Aadhar centre and get their face scanned. UIDAI told that it will use the existing photos to generate Facial maps of the users. Face authentication is expected to go live by July this year.
